Carrillo Engineering served as the civil engineering subconsultant for the City of Fort Worth City Hall project, providing site development and civil engineering services with a strong emphasis on sustainability, green infrastructure, and resilient site design. Located along the Clear Fork of the Trinity River, the project required a thoughtful approach that aligned the site design with the river's natural systems and surrounding floodplain.

 

Carrillo Engineering developed grading and drainage solutions that preserved floodplain function and valley storage through balanced grading, ensuring no adverse impacts to the 100-year or Standard Project Flood elevations or velocities. Stormwater management was a key component of the design, with systems developed to preserve natural drainage patterns and incorporate controlled flow paths that slow, treat, and improve the quality of runoff before it is released back into the watershed.

 

The project required extensive coordination with the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant Regional Water District, North Central Texas Council of Governments, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to address regulatory requirements and support responsible development within the floodplain. Through sustainable site planning, proactive agency coordination, and technically sound floodplain and stormwater solutions, Carrillo Engineering contributed to a resilient City Hall site that supports long-term environmental performance, enhanced stormwater quality, and climate-adaptive infrastructure for the City of Fort Worth
